From impromptu skits that sparked roars of laughter to off-the-cuff monologues that could silence a theatre, the afternoon was an exclusive blockbuster hit montage of potential and creativity!
As the lights dimmed on the session, applause echoed for the grand finale - the promise of a 12-week journey into the heart of CineDrama, where our young enthusiasts will craft, star, and screen their own cinematic creations. SCENE STEALERS TAKE CENTER STAGE
The curtain rises for a close-up on CineDrama Club, where stories unfold. Framing the future of film at KYS KL East, this club tasting session is a ticket to another unforgettable act where emotion meets expression!
Guided by our guest maestros Farah Rani and Iedil Dzuhrie, each a heavyweight in the realms of theatre and screen, orchestrated a symphony of mini activities - transforming our space into a makeshift studio backlot, buzzing with excitement as our young budding artists navigated the plot twist and turns of filmmaking’s behind the scenes.
COLD FEET? WE’RE JUST GETTING WARMED UP!
Glacier Gliders club, in association with Blue Ice Skating Rink KL East Mall recently held a “skate-tacular” tasting session, which brought together
75 ice enthusiasts from the KYS KL East community. The chilly venue became a hotbed of frosty fun experiments and thrilling figure eights!
For the entire two hours, the rink echoed with laughter and cheers from nervous beginners taking their first slides to the confident glide of them seasoned pros - the variation was a real treat to watch!
Nonetheless, the consensus was clear - with each fall, they rose and pushed ahead with a renewed determination. It was an embodiment of life’s best lessons: it’s never about the stumbles but how swiftly you get back up and glide forward.
This activity was a true testament to the resilience, camaraderie, and sheer joy our students bring to every endeavour. Until next time, keep the vibes high and falls low! Watch this space for future “icebreaking” events.
OVER THE MOON AND ABOVE
Houston, we had a delightful ‘problem’ last week: a real-life astronaut in our school corridors! Malaysia’s astronautic luminary, Dato’ Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor, landed amongst us like a booster shot to a galaxy of wisdom.
Our students were all ears, or should we say all antennas? His advice; “Dream Big, Be Fearless, Amplify Your Voice, Master English, and Ace Academics.” Words that resonate perfectly with our Flagship Pillars of Excellence.
His visit was more than just another CCA activity, it was a masterclass on navigating through life’s many orbits of success. With guidance like this, the universe is definitely not the limit, but a launchpad to infinity and beyond!

The ECA Club Tasting series continues in the kitchen, presenting a ripe opportunity for our students to explore their culinary finesse by creating savoury and sweet delicacies.
The session began with a watch-and-learn cooking demo by CookX ambassador Chef Marina Mustapha. She showcased tips and tricks for achieving perfectly golden and crisp Chicken Tenders using the air fryer.
But the fun did not stop there! We rolled up our sleeves for a hands-on mooncake-making session, just in time for Mid-Autumn Festival. These delightful no-bake snow skin mooncakes came in a variety of flavours, ranging from classic lotus and red bean to delectable pandan and chocolate.
The atmosphere was brimming with lots of joy and camaraderie, making it one of the “batter” school days in our academic calendar!
ENERGY ELEVATED
With an astounding turnout of 68 enthusiastic participants, this adventure-packed climb session was a testament to the spirit of determination and exploration that KYS KL East students embody.
Over the course of 2 adrenaline-fuelled hours, we scaled walls, reached for the sky, and conquered challenges one grip at a time.
The energy and enthusiasm were contagious as our students embraced the thrill of climbing at Camp5. Every ascent was a victory, and every step brought them closer to their goals.
We could not be prouder of their achievements and the incredible support they demonstrated to their peers throughout the activity.
This Climb Club trial run marked the beginning of our flagship ECA club tasting series, and it certainly set the bar high!

MAGIC IN THE KITCHEN
What happens when you mix young culinary enthusiasts, a dash of creativity, and a sprinkle of fun?
You get the sizzling sensation that was our WhiskTakers culinary camp, brought to you in partnership with CookX Asia.
For 6 weeks last summer, our campus turned into a gastronomic playground for 20 budding chefs aged 4 to 11. These pint-sized WhiskTakers, hailing from both KYS KL East and other schools, whipped up not one but 12 culinary delights that would make any master chef proud.
From crafting Molten Lava Cakes that oozes gooey deliciousness to perfecting Glazed Chicken Drumsticks that were finger-lickin’ good, our junior cooks discovered the secret ingredient for success!
As they say, the proof is in the pudding, or in our case, cookies!
Our students showcased skills that were destined for culinary greatness.
